MATERIALS + PROCESS
Handwoven on a pedal loom, this fabric, called kala cotton, is woven on a pedal loom in Kutch. Kala is a short staple and indigenous cotton native to Kutch. Ours features a twill weave and has been dyed using natural dyes. This fabric is perfect for the summer as kala is natively known to protect the wearer against the harsh heat in the region while keeping the wearer warm in the winter months as well. Our naturally dyed base fabric is yarn dyed using a combination of pomegranate skins and iron fillings to bring out the unique Cement shade.
