Kiran Caftan in Ikat
DETAILS
Our Kiran (meaning, Ray of Light) caftan features a mandarin collar, a half button placket and long sleeves with side slits. Pocket details include a chest pocket and two rounded side seam pockets.
MATERIALS + PROCESS
Produced using sustainable practices that help improve the livelihoods and welfare of our artisan community makers and reduce the impact on the environment.
Ikat patterns are skillfully prepared by resist-dyeing the yarns before the weaving and then skillfully handwoven on a traditional foot pedal loom to create our pattern. We use a weft weaving technique which is more niche and a higher degree of difficulty than warp weaving, which is more common. Due to the entire manual process, the resulting design has unique characteristics.
