Anika Dress in Engineered Tile Print Madder

$260.00

Playfully interpreted in a signature U&O block print that was inspired by traditional Athangudi tiles commonly seen in South India. Printed in the traditional kalamkari block printing technique using a combination of natural dyes. Kalamkari is a special block-printed cotton textile that refers to the ancient style of hand painting that was born out of the art of storytelling. Making Kalamkari fabric involves 23-steps including treating and preparing the fabric, preparing the dyes and finally hand printing with precision and care.

Featured beautifully on the Anika dress which is bound to be a summer favorite. Playful puff sleeves, a smocked bodice, side pockets and midi length. Pull the sleeves down for a shoulder baring look.

Kora is one of our signature handwoven fabrics using our regeneratively grown cotton harvested with Raddis as part of our Seed&U program. Kala cotton is a short staple and indegnious cotton native to Kutch, known to protect against the harsh heat while also possessing insulting properties in colder climates. It has a soft hand, a relaxed look and feel and is ideal for the summer weather.
