DETAILS
The Padma jacket is a single breasted drop shoulder jacket. An easy outwear piece with contrast pick stitching and an exaggerated box pleat detail on the back to give it a casual cocoon shape.  

MATERIALS + PROCESS
Ladakh’s mountainous terrain presents a multitude of textures and shades of beige. Due to its high altitude there is limited flora and fauna. Many of the valleys of the region are surrounded by various tribes. Yak are commonly found in the wild in the Ladakh region of India. Yak have been domesticated in Ladakh from thousands of years and they are a very valuable animal in the Himalayan economy. Our wool fabric base is woven in the Himachal region referencing the varying shades of beige. Our woven tweed fabric was inspired by window panes around the region.

Handwoven at a unique handloom weaving cooperative in a Himalayan mountainside village in Northern India where wool weaving has been practiced for over 5,000 years.

Warm without bulk, quality construction.

This jacket is beautifully made. The wool is thick and sturdy with a nice lining. I love the collar, cuffs, and front stitching detail. The fabric is a little stiff, but I expect it to relax nicely with continued wear and last forever. It is warm; I was able to wear it this winter in 30-40-degree weather over a light sweater with no issues.

I am a size 6 and ordered the small. It fits like a classic jean jacket. The colors online are true to what it is in real life. I would have needed to size up to wear over bulky sweaters or more layers. It fit great over a light cashmere sweater paired with a scarf.
