Samira Tunic Dress in Blocks
The Samira (meaning, Wind) tunic dress has soft gathers and billowy sleeves to push up for volume or pulled down for less. Its mandarin collar frames the neckline for buttoning up or leaving open. Style as you please –– push up the elasticized sleeves for more volume or pull down for less and wear loose or belt.
Produced using sustainable practices that help improve the livelihoods and welfare of our artisan community makers and reduce the impact on the environment.
Masterfully handwoven on a traditional foot pedal loom that creates a unique and unmatched texture. Its hand-spun yarns are naturally dyed by hand at a family-run workshop using natural minerals and plants. Its pattern, designed by Aleishall Girard-Maxon is achieved using original hand-carved blocks and traditional block printing methods. In a 500 year old family-operated desert master workshop, the complete manual and labor-intensive process result in an overall pattern that is repetitive yet random.
